
The Harlem Globetrotters, celebrating 100 years of basketball and entertainment wizardry on their 2016 Centennial Tour, are replete with New York area talent. Just a few of the native tri-state area standouts on the squad include:

- Jahmani “Hot Shot” Swanson – Harlem, NY
- Latif “Jet” Rivers – Elizabeth, NJ
- Jason “Buckets” Berrera – Elmsford, NY
- Maxwell “Hops” Pearce – Tuckahoe, NY (who will be unveiling a special custom designed artwork for the 100th anniversary)
As well as newcomers on the Globetrotters and Generals:
- Zanai Jones (Jersey City, NJ – Hudson Catholic HS & Villanova)
- Deangelique Waithe (starred at Long Island University)
With their Madison Square Garden tip off on Sunday having officially launched the Tour, the Globetrotters and today announced a new partnership conjoining the history and majesty of the Hall of Fame with the Globetrotters legacy of excellence, community impact, and cultural influence. The partnership strengthens the ties between the Harlem Globetrotters, the first-ever team inducted into the Naismith Hall of Fame, and the global basketball community through joint promotions, special events, clinics, and other projects where the two organizations can collaborate to drive awareness, engagement and further expand the impact of key initiatives. The full “100 Year Tour” will fully tip off with Boston and Pittsburgh on Friday, December 26th and roll out across 200+ domestic markets and over 125+ markets internationally.
