
Victor Wembanyama earned Finals MVP honors and Stephon Castle scored a game-high 24 points in the Game 7 clincher as San Antonio defeated New York, four games to three, in a simulation of the basketball championship via Strat-O-Matic (@strat-o-matic), the market leader in sports simulations.
In the simulation, San Antonio protected home court with a 105-99 victory in Game 1 before New York answered in Game 2 to even the series and seize home-court advantage. The Knicks then moved ahead, 2-1, with a 108-104 Game 3 win at Madison Square Garden behind major contributions from Jalen Brunson and OG Anunoby.
The Spurs quieted any possibility of a short series in Game 4, roaring back with a decisive 120-107 victory to tie the series before heading back to San Antonio. New York responded in Game 5 as Brunson delivered a 43-point masterpiece, putting the Knicks within one win of their first championship in 53 years.
With history on the line and the series returning to the Garden, San Antonio again refused to fold. After forcing a winner-take-all Game 7, the Spurs improved to 2-0 in Game 7s during the postseason, sending New York home and claiming the championship.
Wembanyama led San Antonio with 22.5 points per game in the series, while Castle and De’Aaron Fox followed closely at 19.0 and 18.1, respectively. For New York, Brunson’s 26.1 points per game led all scorers, while Anunoby added an efficient 22.2 per contest.
